comparing other religion related terrorists to uk hooligans behavior and would not give a clear hypothesis in understanding of the level of disaster the parochial altruism has created. beacause, they are two groups of nuts ,crazy people with different culture. though to annihilate other rival group is in their bones.

I'm not even going to look at the videos. Reality, or the lack of it dictates that you can't pigeonhole into a duality of one thing being simply and completely right over another thing, (in this instance). "There is more in Heaven and Earth Horatio"...

It is quite possible to make renewables into the backbone of America's energy system in time to meethte challenge of Peak Oil. It is also possible to build the infrastructure that will let America continue moving and innovating. But it is only *possible* right now, not *happening,* because oil- and gas-powered politicians won't MAKE it happen.

There's another problem with Peak Oil that isn't addressed here. Beside the cost of a gallon of gas reaching $10 as demand outstrips supply, there's the question of what we will eat: every herbicide and many fertilizers are made of oil. Food comes wrapped in plastic that is made from oil. Most of what we drink comes in plastic bottles.

Then there's the human environment. This computer I'm using is made with oil. The carpet under my feet? Oil. The desk? Oil. That toothbrush? Oil. Not only do our vehicles run on petroleum, they're built out of it -- and run on roads made out of it.

All of this will become far more expensive to build and maintain now. So when you read about the GOP-controlled House cutting renewables, transit, and infrastructure repair, know that they aren't helping our long-term deficits. In fact, they are making things much, much worse.

In video #4 PZ makes an error when discussing the separation of church and state in the US Constitution. The First Amendment was written to protect religious expression from government intervention, yes, but also to protect the state from the tyranny of the church. Thomas Jefferson is quoted as saying, “In every country and every age, the priest had been hostile to Liberty.” He also said, "And the day will come, when the mystical generation of Jesus, by the Supreme Being as His Father, in the womb of a virgin, will be classed with the fable of the generation of Minerva, in the brain of Jupiter."
